If You Could Forgive One Man in Sports......

Shoeless Joe Jackson

All this Roger Clemens talk seems to have people divided into two groups. One group says give him a pass, and the other group says he should be held accountable for his (alleged) actions. This got me thinking. Should he be given a pass? Should he still be a first ballot Hall of Famer? Should he be in the HOF at all? With those questions in my mind I ask you this; If you had one vote to cast for "forgiveness" who would you cast it for? (Let's just stick to the sports world please) Would it be for a guy like Steve Bartman? Scott Norwood? Roger Clemens, Marion Jones? To take it one step further, who would you allow into the HOF who isn't there now (or you don't see getting in when their time comes) but you think should be?

Pete Rose- Gambling
Mark McGwire- Steroids
Shoeless Joe Jackson- Accused of Game Fixing
Barry Bonds- Steroids (I'm just assuming that he's not getting in on the first ballot if at all)
Raphael Palmeiro- Steroids

Who do you think deserves the pass into the Hall? Remember you can only pick one for the Hall.

BallHype: hype it up!

interesting.
all of these guys that take steroids do it so that they can earn mega bucks playing baseball. like roger made 18 million last year. i wonder how much shoeless joe made for fixing the world series. because most of these roid heads would throw the world series for money. they just don't have to because they make 1 million every time they toe the rubber. i bet roger's heroes in baseball history are the black sox. they saw the easiest way to make a few extra bucks

my vote is for shoeless joe because he was pretty good for a guy who wasn't trying

I agree with the Shoeless Joe comment. He hit .375 that series had, I believe, 31 balls hit his way and committed no errors. If that's throwing the series than what has A-Rod been doing in every post season he's ever played in?

haha, i love the AROD comparison. I bet he is on the take to pick up another couple million from some mobster in NY. that would be a great conspiracy theory.
